Bhutan’s Minimum Tour Package cost to Increase 2012
“As Bhutan continues to Target high-value Tourists”
From 2012 Bhutan’s minimum package tour cost per person will be USD 250 a day for the months of March, April, May, September, October and November. However, to encourage more people to visit during the months of June, July, August, December, January and February the minimum package tour cost per person remains at USD 200 per day. With the increase in package cost the tour operators are mandated to keep their guests in accommodation facilities that have been rated as 3 stars and above.
Details of the revision are as follows:
1) USD 250 per person per night on a twin sharing basis for the months of March, April, May, September, October and November from the 1st January,2012.
2) USD 200 per person per night on a twin sharing basis for the months of January, February, June, July, August and December from the 1st January 2012.
3) Royalty will be kept at USD 65.
4) All other provisions of the earlier announcement referred to above, such as: discounts, FIT surcharges, and agents commission will remain the same and come into effect as announced.
The minimum package includes all costs for travel in Bhutan – all meals, accommodation, local travel, all internal taxes and charges, licensed guide, and all camping and other needs for treks.
The increase is expected to offer enhanced quality, service and value; supporting the policy of ‘high value, low impact.’
