History

To publishing a travel magazine was one of the assignments which Raja had under taken while in College at South Downs in Portsmouth, which gave birth to the Himalayas Nepal formely known as Kingdom In the Himalayas. The first issue came out in November 1998, with 28 page most of the cost was collected from Giri’s part time waiter job and typing, editing from friends in college, photos scanned from Nepal government tourism publications.

The twelve years turbulence times in Nepal with the rise of Maoist insurgency at its peak, Royal Palace Massacre and Indian plane hijack all this had almost diminished the entire tourism industry of Nepal but  Himalayas Publications continued to publish issue after issue and today after fourteen years it has emerged as the only one and the leading travel magazine for the entire eastern Himalayas. It is the only travel magazine available in WH Smith representing Asian continent.
